First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church, 213 Whittington Ave., welcomes the Rev. Brenda Holder, a Lakeside High School graduate who attended college at Louisiana Tech and graduated from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary before moving to Missouri to pastor churches. Her mission trips include Brazil, Mexico and Ukraine. Services begin at 10:30 a.m. with Sunday Fellowship immediately following. Choir Director Deleen Davidson will present music, along with the First Presbyterian chancel choir and organist Craig Crawford. A pew section for masks only with social distancing seating is provided, with masks optional elsewhere.

The First Christian Church

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1806 Central Ave., will have an in-house worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Rick Hendricks speaking on John 20:19-31 "Where Two or Three are Gathered ... ( someone always doubts)." The Rev. Mark Garner and his wife, Karen, recently accepted an invitation with YWAM to do mission work in Ukraine. Based in Rzeszow, Poland, they will be working with Ukraine refugees in transit into Poland, escaping the war.
