Some facilities, including roads, and businesses located within Hot Springs National Park were closed Thursday due to the wintry weather.

"The Visitor Center, offices, and West Mountain and Hot Springs Mountain Drives are closed (Thursday) because of the hazardous road conditions and forecast for continued inclement weather," said HSNP Superintendent Laura Miller.

In addition to the park-run buildings, Hot Springs Mountain Tower and the businesses on Bathhouse Row were closed. Social media accounts for the Buckstaff Bath House, Superior Bathhouse Brewery and Quapaw Baths & Spa confirmed those businesses were closed for the storm, and a phone call confirmed that the Hotel Hale was also closed.

Miller said the storm was not as bad as it could have been.

"Fortunately, we didn't receive the extensive ice accumulations that were forecast as a possibility, so we're not seeing tree limbs down or other issues like that. As soon as the roads clear, we will reopen," Miller said.

While some areas and businesses were closed, the park itself and its trails remained open to the public.

Miller said, "though we would recommend caution on the trail as they also will be icy/slick, and to be cautious that we could see some tree limbs falling if we continue to see ice accumulations this afternoon."

The Hot Springs Parks and Trails Department also announced Wednesday it was closing all Parks and Trails restrooms due to the inclement weather and would reopen "when temperatures and weather permits," a release said.

The affected restrooms include the Baseball Trail Park, 1201 Whittington Ave.; Entergy Park, 130 Entergy Park Lane; Family Park, 215 Family Park Road; Hill Wheatley Park, 688 Majestic Lodge Road; Kimery Park, 331 Kimery Lane; Linden Park, 309 Linden Park Lane; the Rotary Trailhead, 411 Hollywood Ave.; Wade Street Park, 300 Wade St.; and the David F. Watkins Memorial Park, 811 Park Ave.
