COVID-19 update: More than 1,000 active cases reported in county

The streak of four straight days with a record number of new reported cases ended Saturday, but the state's infection curve rose for the 19th straight day Monday and peaked for the ninth straight day.

Active cases rose for the 15th straight day Monday and peaked for the seventh straight day, surpassing 60,000. Two percent of the state's population of more than 3 million has an active infection.

Hospitalizations rose for the 11th straight day Monday, surpassing 1,000 for the first time since Sept. 20.

More than 1,000 active cases were reported in Garland County Monday, putting its active case count close to the peak of 1,111 reached in mid-August.

Harmony Park Family Medicine will offer drive-up COVID-19 testing today and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 301 W. St. Louis St. The insured are asked to bring their insurance cards. Testing will be free for the uninsured.
