Had Lakeside won the bid, it would have been the first time the school hosted the tournament since 2016, when the Rams were defeated in the semifinals 3-2 by Hot Springs on a header by Josue Hernandez in the 75th minute. The Trojans picked up their first state title a week later with a 4-2 win over Valley View in Fayetteville.

Van Buren beat out Lake Hamilton's bid for the Class 5A state track meet, which will be held May 5.

Lake Hamilton has been a regular host for the meet, having last hosted the meet in 2019. Hot Springs hosted the state track meet last year.

Sheridan will host the Class 5A state basketball tournament next month, beating out bids from Lake Hamilton, Jacksonville, Jonesboro and Siloam Springs. Lake Hamilton hosted the Class 1A state tournament in 2021 and the Class 5A state tournament in 2019.

Magnolia will host the Class 4A state tournament with Nashville hosting the 4A South regional.

The Class 3A state tournament will be hosted by Valley Springs at North Arkansas College in Harrison. Lamar will host the 3A Region 3 tournament while Dumas will host Region 4.

The Class 2A state tournament will be held at Junction City with Dierks hosting the 2A South regional.
