choir to perform
The 1974 Hendrix College Reunion Choir will sing during the 9 and 11 a.m. services at First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs on July 31 under the direction of Richard Scott.
The group toured Europe in 1974 under the direction of the late Robert McGill, singing in cathedrals and other venues in Romania, Austria and Italy. During the tour, the choir visited Florence, Venice, Vienna and other cities, traveling on the Orient Express.
Reunion activities will include a Mexican Fiesta on Saturday night, and a Festive Dinner at Via Roma on Sunday night.
"The members wish to acknowledge the recent death of one of our members, who was instrumental in keeping the group connected these many years, Amy F. Claxton," a news release said.
