Loyal Ladies Extension Homemakers Club members recently volunteered with the Arkansas Veterans Support Service booth at the Hot Springs Bike Fest from June 9-11 in downtown Hot Springs.

"Wendell and Amy Roberts of Hot Springs started AVSS as a nonprofit in 2018 to provide services to veterans in Arkansas. The group is working on transition housing for our servicemen and women returning from overseas places of conflict. Plus coming soon: AVSS will be a place where a veteran can come and get help with education, medical, VA services, and other related services," a news release said.

The Loyal Ladies worked two shifts a day over the three-day period providing 56 volunteer hours.

Arkansas Honor Ride is a nonprofit that raises money to support and help injured military members. "The Loyal Ladies had fun and learned a great deal from working alongside AVSS and Arkansas Honor ride," the release said.

Anyone interested in joining a Garland County Extension Club can call Alison Crane at 501- 623-6841.
