The Hot Springs Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Kenwood Street, just off Maryland Street, after a fire was reported in a residence shortly after 3:30 p.m. Monday.
The incident was initially called in as a smoke alarm, but responding firefighters discovered a portion of the house was fully involved. The fire was under control by around 4:15 p.m.
