After the success of the 2021 Spa City Stompers block party fundraiser for the Hot Springs Jazz Society, hosts Dr. George and Mimi Ryan have offered their space for another afternoon of "swingin'" New Orleans Dixie and pop music at 6 p.m. Friday.
The block party is free and the public is welcome. Bring a chair, and coolers are allowed. The outdoor space is at 5000 Central Ave.
Cornet player George Ryan, who headed the Hot Cotton band, headquartered in Memphis for over 40 years, will be joined by pianist Clyde Pound, bassist David Higginbotham, drummer C.E. Askew, saxophonist Earl Hesse, trombonist Michael Bryant, Memphis banjo picker Dan Wilkinson and guest vocalist Shirley Chauvin.
