Charles "Charlie" Estel Heckel, 91, of Hot Springs, passed away Sept. 10, 2022.

He was born in Sterling, Kan., on Oct. 31, 1930, to the late John and Fern Heckel.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sharon Marie Tidwell.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Naomi Heckel; daughters, Joy (Bob) Savage and Marilyn (Steve) Trusty; sons, Charles "Bud" (Gina) Heckel and John (Tracy) Heckel; sister, Audrey Wiebe; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Charlie retired from Union Carbide Corporation in 1985 and then started his own construction/cabinet business. He was a member of Lake Hamilton Church of the Nazarene and was instrumental in the building of that church, along with several other churches in the U.S. and in Central and South America. He will be remembered for his love for Christ, his family, and his church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Lake Hamilton Church of the Nazarene, 200 Lockhaven Point, Hot Springs, Ark. 71913.

The family will be available for visitation at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Lake Hamilton Church of the Nazarene.

A memorial service and celebration of Charlie's life will follow at 3 p.m. at the church.
