Jolene Fleming, 88, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2022.

She was born July 19, 1934, in Bonnerdale, Ark., to the late Arthur Clayton and Edith M. (Robbins) Harris.

She was predeceased by husband, Robert Fleming; son, Robert Fleming Jr.; sister, Sue Morrissey; and brother, Randy Harris.

She is survived by brother, Don Harris (Sarah); daughter, Ladye Gaye Sink (Ron Rowland); brother-in-law, Jim Morrissey; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.

Jolene was kind, happy and brought joy to others through her fun-loving spirit. She was famous for her spectacular baking, especially her sugar cookies and chocolate cake. Among her many interest were music, dancing, working in her yard, John Wayne movies ("Hondo" her favorite), "Gunsmoke," "The Wheel of Fortune," Tiger Woods and wine.

She was a member of Grand Avenue Methodist Church. She was a faithful volunteer at the church Out Reach Ministry, where she found joy and purpose helping to provide for those less fortunate.

She enjoyed her position as a "Red Coat" usherette at Oaklawn Park for 34 years, retiring at the age of 84. She truly loved her work providing excellent customer service. She was cherished by patrons and co-workers.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today, Sept. 23, 2022, at Gross Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Fleming Cemetery, with Pastor Scott Gallimore officiating.
