UPDATE: Sheriff's office identifies woman found dead after mobile home fire

UPDATE

The Garland County Sheriff's Department on Friday identified a woman whose body was found after a fire destroyed part of her single-wide mobile home at 264 Old Church Road, off Spring Street, Thursday evening.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Office said the woman, Glenna Head, 56, was found inside after the fire, which destroyed part of her single-wide mobile home on Old Church Road, located off Spring Street, was extinguished by firefighters from the Morning Star and Lake Hamilton fire departments.

Head’s caregiver had gone to the residence around 4:30 p.m. to check on her and discovered the residence was on fire, Sheriff’s Deputy Courtney Kizer, the department’s public information officer, told The Sentinel-Record.

The GCSO Criminal Investigation Division and state fire marshal were still investigating the incident Friday, she said.

Head was pronounced dead at the scene by Garland County Coroner Stuart Smedley. The cause of her death was not given on Friday.

One person is dead after a fire destroyed part of a single-wide mobile home at 264 Old Church Road, off Spring Street, Thursday evening, according to the Garland County Sheriff's Department.

GCSO Deputy Courtney Kizer, the department's public information officer, said an elderly female, age not available, who lived at the residence, was confirmed dead at the scene. Her caregiver had gone to the residence, a single wide mobile home, around 4:30 p.m. to check on her and discovered the residence on fire.

Kizer said the incident is still under investigation. The name of the victim was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Agencies present at the scene included the Morning Star and Lake Hamilton fire departments, Garland County sheriff's deputies and investigators, Garland County Coroner Stuart Smedley and the state fire marshal.
