Pedestrian killed on I-30 Sunday night

A male pedestrian was reportedly struck and killed by a passing semi truck Sunday night on Interstate 30 near the 83 mile marker in rural Hot Spring County, according to an Arkansas Department of Public Safety fatality report released Monday night.

Louis E. Collyard, 25, of Appleton, Wisconsin, was reportedly standing in the outside eastbound travel lane of the interstate shortly after 8 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2022 Kenworth semi-truck. The driver of the truck was not identified in the report.

Collyard was pronounced dead at the scene by Hot Spring County Coroner Jason Chenault. It was noted conditions were clear and dry at the time of the incident which was investigated by Arkansas State Police.
