PEARCY -- Betty Jane Hickman, 75, of Pearcy, Ark., passed away Jan. 21, 2023, at her home.

She was born Oct. 1, 1947, in Tulsa, Okla., to Buell James Ogden and Bertha Lucille Rutherford Ogden.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dewayne Anthony Hickman.

Survivors include her son, Daryl Hickman (Leslie) of Catoosa, Okla., son, Teddy Kelly Jr. (Jessica) of Hot Springs, Ark., and daughter-in-law, Sheila Hickman of Mount Ida; grandchildren, Brittney, Trevor Austin, Teddy, Zach and Gracie; as well as great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.

Betty was a RN in oncology for 32 years at CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs. Betty was active with her son, Daryl, in 4-H. Her hobbies included: coin collecting, shopping and she faithfully attended weekly auctions. She loved spending time with her family and taking trips to the beach. Betty was a very compassionate soul who always found a way to fulfill the need, no matter what it was. Her determination always propelled her to succeed in whatever challenge she faced.

A celebration of Betty's life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center at 2529 Airport Road. Burial to follow the service at Joplin Cemetery, Joplin, Ark.

Pallbearers include Trevor Hickman, Shawn Pryor, Jon Miller, Teddy Kelly III, John Horton, John Tuckerman III and John Tuckerman IV.

Honorary pallbearers include Austin Hickman, Zach Kelly and the CHI St. Vincent 2 West Oncology Unit, Hot Springs, Ark.
