Shirley Robertson, age 86, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1936, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Glen Smith and Gladys Newkirk Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley was a Christian and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was a Mountain Pine High School graduate. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes, was a wonderful cook and baker, caretaker of Godwin Cemetery and enjoyed bowling on a league. Her family enjoyed many wonderful meals around her table. Shirley enjoyed camping with her beloved family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe Robertson; two sons; Mike Robertson and Donna Bryant, of Royal, and Eddy and Dana Robertson, of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Kassi Robertson, Zack (Laura) Robertson, Carrie (Brad) Calhoun, Ben Robertson and Taylor (Emalee) Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Abbigail (Joseph) Killett, Caleb Calhoun, Hunter Robertson, Creed Robertson, Carter Calhoun and Greyson Jones; one sister, Norma Griffith; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs.
Interment in the Godwin Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Jones, Zack Robertson, Brad Calhoun, Carter Calhoun, Dr. Dale Kincheloe, Scotty Griffith, Tim Griffith and Ben Robertson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Helms, Doug Welch, Gay Graves, Albert Bland, Mark Jackson, Joe Farmer and Catherine King.
