Moix RV, a staple in Conway since 1976, will soon be adding a new location in Hot Springs, the company announced this week.

Michael Moix, the owner and president of the company, said the new facility will be located at Westinghouse Road and East Grand Avenue.

"We've acquired property there," he said. "And we're going to be bringing Grand Design recreational vehicles ... to the Hot Springs market. We intend to begin construction next month, and we'll hopefully be open with a temporary facility this summer."

Moix said the property will be a full-service dealership with sales, parts and service.

"The property is about 7 acres," he said. "We're going to be building out a full-service dealership there with parts, service, the full works. We will kind of phase in the operations. We'll have everything on a limited basis as soon as we open. Our service operations will increase as we get our shop built and the new parts store built."

The new facility will employ from 15-20 people when it is fully staffed, Moix said.

"We'll probably stock around 100 RVs at any given time," he said.

While the dealership is making a move to add the location in Hot Springs now, the idea has been in the works for some years.

"Hot Springs is a market that we have long looked at," Moix said. "It's a thriving community down there. It's a destination where people in Arkansas go to camp and hang out. Being south of Little Rock, it's a little bit out of my Conway store's market area. We obviously wanted to bring the Grand Design products down there. Grand Design is not represented in that market, and we wanted to be the dealer to do that."

While the full facility will not be completed for several months, Moix said he hopes to have a temporary facility early this summer.

"It'll probably take several months, I would say six to eight months, for a complete build-out, but we will be opened in temporary facilities sometime in May or June," he said.

Moix said plans are still being finalized for the facility, but he expects at least six service bays.

"I'm hesitating just a little bit because we're still finalizing the building plan," he said. "It's gonna be a full-service dealership with probably a minimum of six service bays."

According to property records found at https://www.actDataScout.com, which is used by Garland County for real estate property listings and tax information, the property was acquired by Moix on March 8, 2023, for approximately $1.8 million.
