Servicing the Hot Springs and surrounding communities for more than 25 years, Palmer Hearing Laboratory has continually strived to put the hearing health care of the community as its top priority. We believe that hearing and its related disorders should be treated with great care.

My father, C.O. Palmer, first began his career in Hot Springs in 1977, working many years at Hot Springs ENT. Following 13 years of practice within that clinic, he moved our family to Alabama. Three years later, the call to come back to Hot Springs came. We moved back to Hot Springs and my dad began working at Statco Hearing Laboratory. Shortly after, he purchased Statco Hearing and eventually changed the name from Statco Hearing Laboratory to what is now known as Palmer Hearing Laboratory.

Growing up, I was able to watch my parents (my mother is a speech-language pathologist) work in the communication disorders field. I vividly remember watching my father fit a severely hard-of-hearing patient with a new hearing aid at the ENT clinic when I was about 8 years old. The expression on the patient's face when they heard with the new hearing aid made me determined to make that same impact when I grew up. I even wrote in my "What I want to be when I grow up" paper in second grade that I wanted to be an audiologist -- like my dad.

Following graduation from Lake Hamilton High School, I attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. While pursuing my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders, I also had the wonderful opportunity to be part of the U of A Marching Razorbacks. Shortly after graduating from the U of A Fayetteville, I moved to Beaumont, Texas, so I could pursue a doctorate in Audiology at Lamar University. I finished my course studies and then completed my externship at Arkansas Otolaryngology Center. Upon completion, I graduated with my Doctorate in Audiology and shortly after, came to work for my dad. The conversation went like this when I called: "Hi Dad! I'll be at work Monday!" Him: "OK." After that phone call, we began doubling our efforts in providing the best hearing care in Hot Springs until he officially retired in 2021. I am now continuing to follow in his footsteps to make sure the people of Hot Springs and surrounding communities continue to have access to the best hearing health care possible.
