FORNEY, Texas -- Joseph Wilson Amick, 30, of Forney, Texas, passed away on Nov. 12, 2023.

Born on Oct. 15, 1993, in Little Rock, Ark., Wilson was always bringing the charm and charisma to every occasion and situation. Wilson leaves behind a trail of cherished memories and loved ones.

He is survived by his parents, Joe Amick, of San Antonio, Texas, and Leigh Amick, of Forney, Texas; his son, Jet Wilson Amick, and his wife, Claire Nettles, of Baton Rouge, La. His sister, Ashleigh Amick Morgan, of Forney, Texas, and her immediate family. His grandparents, Patsy Amick, of Boerne Texas, Paul and Colleen Johnson, of Mountain Home, Ark., and Ronald Sublette, of Hot Springs, Ark. His aunt and uncle, Angie and Patrick Amick, of Boerne, Texas, and their immediate family, along with many more aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

Wilson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Art Amick, of Hot Springs and Frances Sublette, of Hot Springs.

Wilson grew up in Hot Springs, Ark., but moved to the Boerne area at the age of 13. He graduated from Boerne High School, where he was quarterback of the football team and awarded the Texas Built Ford Tough player recognition. Thereafter, he attended Texas State University and graduated with a Finance degree in December 2016. He resided in the Dallas, Texas, area after college. Wilson could light up the room when he walked in, which is why he had friends all over the country and everywhere he lived throughout his life. He was very sharp-minded, and he made sure that you knew that as well. Although his time was shorter than anyone would have planned, we are all eternally grateful to have been given the chance to say we know and love him.

A celebration of Wilson's life took place from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Nov. 18, 2023, at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home, located at 1265 N. Main St., Boerne, TX 78006.
