Elizabeth Elmina Smedley Stephens died Sept. 11, 2023.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1930, in Pocahontas, Ark., and was a longtime resident of the Fountain Lake area of Hot Springs.

She is predeceased by her parents, Joe and Trell Smedley, her husband, Arthur Stephens, son, David Stephens, and her siblings, Joe Jr. and Bud Smedley, and Ramona Smedley Davis.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Chris and A.J. Hixon, of Benton, grandchildren: Julianne (Parker) Reed, Noah Williams, Kim (Charles) Williams, Lori (Todd) Lampo, Cheri Keding and David Stephens Jr., and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mina was a teacher at Fountain Lake School for several years, and she will be remembered with affection by the many students she taught. She will be very missed by her family, but will be cherished in memories of her laughter and enthusiasm for life. She had great passion and love for her family. Mina's love for her Lord Jesus began when she was young, and that love only increased as she grew older. She died peacefully in her sleep at home with the assurance that she would be rejoicing in the presence of her Lord.

A memorial service will be held by her family at a later date.

The family also wishes to extend their love and appreciation to Donna Dingess, who was Mina's caregiver/friend for many years.

Arrangements are by Hot Springs Funeral Home.
