Jordan Bedding & Furniture Gallery, 4735 Malvern Ave., will hold its 65th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 1-4 p.m.
"We will have several customer appreciation drawings throughout the afternoon and two grand prizes valued at $1,000. Customers can enter for drawing at jordanbedding.com or at the store up until the date of the open house," a news release said.
Jordan Bedding & Furniture Gallery is a family-owned handcrafted mattress business that started with Buddy and Naomi Jordan in a garage in 1958. The second and third generation of the family now runs the business. Ryan and Rachel Callender, Robin and Shanna's son-in-law and daughter, are now also part owners of the business.
"When asked how we have thrived so long, I tell people that we hold to the same standards that Buddy and Naomi started with in 1958. Make a good product, be honest and take care of customers," owner Shanna Jordan said.
One of the things that sets Jordan mattresses apart is that each one is handcrafted right on the premises. Innerspring mattresses are still made two-sided so that they can be flipped over for durability.
"We don't cut corners on our mattresses to make more money," Shanna Jordan said. "We want to be known for a product that lasts and provides the best sleep."
While Jordan Bedding can be found in many of the local top resorts and hotels, the business relies on individuals who come buy their mattresses direct from the factory store.
Mattresses are kept in stock for easy pickup or delivery. Mattresses can also be custom-sized, including for antique beds, campers, or houseboats.
In addition to 14 comfort levels of mattresses, including innerspring, memory foam, latex and adjustable bases, Jordan Bedding & Furniture offers a line of sofas, recliners and chairs from Best Home Furnishing and solid wood bedroom furniture from Vaughan-Bassett, "two well-known USA manufacturers."
