If you haven't been by The Caring Place in the last year, you have not seen the ongoing improvements in our "Gardens." Thanks to the generosity of so many people in our community, we have been able to add to the beauty and usefulness of this area.
Individuals who suffer from Alzheimer's and dementia and related cognitive disorders benefit greatly from being able to be outside in a protected environment. Fresh air and sunshine can change the mood and feelings of everyone, but especially those who suffer from these diseases. We have a covered area that we will soon add retractable side awnings to, thanks to a Hot Springs Area Community Foundation grant. This covering will allow our participants to be outside during the winter days!
Due to an increase in the number of participants, our covered area is not adequate on certain days and we are looking to expand this.
On Oct. 24, we held our annual Ladies Luncheon. This event benefits directly to our Caregiver Respite Grant Program, formally known as the scholarship program. This program helps those families who could not afford to bring their loved one to The Caring Place otherwise.
Please consider giving a gift toward the grant program. We have more and more people needing our services, and we need your help to continue this!
