Ordination service
planned for Sunday
St. Thomas Baptist Church, 347 Grove St., will celebrate the ordination service of Brother Ricardo Marquez Wyatt at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Pastor Tyrone Burnell of the Angel Gabriel COGIC will bring the message. The theme for this occasion will be "A Deacon On Purpose," 1 Timothy 3:13, "For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree and boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus."

observes 105th birthday
The Community of Christ church, located on Airport Road (Highway 70 west) at the Majestic Lodge Road intersection, will celebrate its 105th birthday on Sunday with a Homecoming worship service followed by a potluck luncheon.
The Community of Christ is a Christian faith group with World Church Headquarters in Independence, Missouri, according to a news release from the church.
