An Arkadelphia man was arrested Thursday night in Clark County on a felony warrant out of Hot Springs for allegedly making death threats to his ex-girlfriend in Hot Springs last year.
Logan R. Golden, 21, was taken into custody by Hot Springs police around 8 p.m. on one count of first-degree terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years in prison. He was later released on a $5,000 bond and is set to appear March 1 in Garland County District Court.
Golden lists no prior felony history, but had pleaded no contest in Clark County on Feb. 23, 2023, to a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and was sentenced to 90 days of supervised probation.
According to the probable cause affidavit on Thursday's arrest, on Oct. 16, 2023, around 7 p.m., HSPD officers met with a woman regarding a criminal mischief incident from earlier that day.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned of alleged threatening messages sent to the woman by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Golden. On Dec. 4, the woman provided screenshots of multiple messages from Golden to her.
She reportedly showed one message to officers that was "extremely threatening in nature," the affidavit states, including one where Golden threatened that he "would kill her, break into her house and rape her."
Officers reportedly determined the messages to the woman "came from various social media applications that were confirmed to be from Golden." Officers attempted to contact Golden using one of the numbers provided by the victim and spoke to a female who stated Golden was her co-worker and that he had used her phone to send a text message.
The affidavit notes the woman was "afraid that Golden will carry out with his threats." On Oct. 19, 2023, the woman filed a petition in Garland County Circuit Court seeking an order of protection from Golden alleging he had vandalized her vehicle, made multiple death threats, and subjected her to "image-based abuse" and domestic abuse.
A hearing on the order of protection was reset multiple times and is now scheduled for Feb. 21. A warrant for Golden's arrest on the terroristic threatening charge was issued Thursday morning and served that night.
