Hot Springs police were searching for a white SUV that reportedly left the scene of a wreck that injured two people Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck, which occurred in the 1500 block of Albert Pike Road shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, involved a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle that collided with a white SUV that allegedly left the scene.

The driver and passenger on the Kawasaki were both injured and transported by LifeNet to local hospitals for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, Hot Springs police Officer 1st Class Omar Cervantes said.

The motorcycle reportedly struck the rear of the SUV, which had stopped suddenly and then left the scene last seen headed inbound on Albert Pike. The incident is still under investigation, he said.
