Visitors Chapel hosts Men's Day program

Historic Visitors Chapel A.M.E. Church, 319 Church St., will host a Men's Day Program, "Courageous Men Of God, Stand Firm in the Faith and Faithfulness," at 11 a.m. Sunday with Kevin Hunt Jr. as the speaker.

The Right Rev. Michael L. Mitchell is presiding bishop; the Rev. James H. Giles Sr. is presiding elder; the Rev. Charlene N. Boone is senior pastor; the Rev. Randolph Martin Sr., retired elder, is associate minister; and the Rev. Gregory E. Guinn is associate minister.

Former member presents sermon at First Presbyterian

Ruth Arnold, a former youth and church member at First Presbyterian Church, 213 Whittington Ave., will present the sermon "Jeremiah and the Weeping Prophets" during worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Arnold is the daughter of Revs. John and Susan Arnold who served First Presbyterian as co-pastors from 2000-2008 and are now pastoring in northwest Arkansas.

She is the assistant program director at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center. She previously has served as director of youth ministry at Presbyterian churches across the state and most recently worked for a nonprofit organization serving both its domestic and international programs in hunger-relief.

Red Oak MBC plans Easter Festival March 30

Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 2791 Highway 290, will hold an Easter Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30.

An egg hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. Games and food follow around noon.

Easter worship will begin at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 31, with Easter breakfast at 9 a.m.
