Medical Arts Optical celebrates its 44th year in business this year.

"We began on the first floor of the historical building Medical Arts in downtown Hot Springs in 1980. The owner of The Medical Arts Pharmacy, Jerry Stephens, had empty floor space to fill behind his pharmacy and decided to venture into the optical business. We soon outgrew that space and the one after. In 1992, we opened our doors on Central Avenue in the Hobby Lobby shopping center where we are located today," a news release said.

Medical Arts Optical carries many frame designers such as Max Mara, Versace, Silhouette, Coach, Vera Bradley, and Betsy Johnson. You will also find your favorite sunglasses such as Oakley, Maui Jim, Costa, and Ray-Ban.

"We strive to satisfy every pocketbook, therefore we have value packages with a large selection of frames, as well. With our on-premise lab, we can have many prescriptions in an hour or less," the release said.

"Medical Arts Optical has partnered with Eye Exams Inc. and Dr. Derek Long to simplify your eye care needs. We are proud of our friendly staff and the licensed opticians that will make your visit stress-free," the release said.

"Our offices take most all insurances, including VSP, Eyemed, Superior, AR Kids, and Medicaid. For those without vision insurance, we give a discount on your eyewear. Our goal is to keep Hot Springs seeing great and looking even better," it said.
