The John Percifull Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Pat McLemore will speak on cooperation between the NSDAR and the Sons of the American Revolution and the General Society Sons of the Revolution.

For information about the location of the meeting, call Frankie Ochsner, 501-525-1337, or Pam Rains, 501-620-9990.

"After retiring in 2014, Pat began researching her ancestors, and she became a member of Akansa Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution in November of that year," an NSDAR news release said.

"In 2023, she was asked by State Regent, Gayle Markley to become the Arkansas Chair of a new National Committee, DAR/SAR/S.R. Relations. While her husband was serving as the Arkansas State President for the Sons of the American Revolution as well as the South-Central District Vice President General, she was already attending all of the Sons of the American Revolution, National and South-Central District meetings. She first became aware of this new Committee while attending a meeting in Florida and met Brenda Jessel, the National Chairman of the DAR/SAR/S.R. Relations Committee," the release said.

The committee was formed by the Wright Administration to promote the relationship with the National Society Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) and the General Society Sons of the Revolution (S.R.) and the DAR. Activity with the SAR/S.R. will:

Promote a congenial and harmonious working relationship for the betterment of their shared objectives.

Render support and assistance in the area of community-centered events and mutual membership growth.

Foster shared goals of historic preservation, education and patriotism.

The business meeting will follow the presentation, featuring the John Percifull DAR Good Citizen, Reagan Carrouth, a senior at Lake Hamilton High School. Carrouth will read her winning essay.

The meeting will adjourn early to allow members and guests to attend a NASA presentation on the eclipse.

Visitors are welcome.

"If you have a Revolutionary War Ancestor, please come and find out more about DAR," the release said.
