Greater St. Paul holds family, friends day

Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, 497 Crescent Ave., will hold its annual Ethel Watkins Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be pastor William E. Watkins II, of Thrive Church Admin in Desoto, Texas.

Youth speaker at Eureka MBC

Historic Eureka Missionary Baptist Church, 721 Gaines Ave., will celebrate Third Sunday Youth Day at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest speaker Imani Jolie Carpenter, daughter of Abraham and Elaine Carpenter of College Station.

Imani Carpenter, 10, is a fifth-grader at College Station Elementary Specialty School where she is student body president. She is working on her third-degree black belt in tae kwon do, participates in gymnastics, cheerleading and was one of the winners of the Martin Luther King Essay Contest.

The Youth Choir will provide music.

Encounter Church has new location

Encounter Church is celebrating its new home at 115 Lakeshore Drive, just off Higdon Ferry. It is nondenominational.

Worship band begins at 10 a.m. with the message, "A New Home," to follow. Afterward, there will be a water baptism.

Washington Memorial celebrates 79 years

Washington Memorial Church of God in Christ, 423 Grove St., will celebrate its 79th Church Anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The theme is "Building on a Solid Foundation."

Guests will be the Rev. Henry Mitchell and the choir of Victory Praise and Worship Church in Malvern. The choir will render selections.
