Police investigate shooting

Hot Springs police are investigating the early morning shooting of an employee at a local fast food restaurant that reportedly followed an altercation in the parking lot.

According to reports, shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to McDonald's, 200 E. Grand Ave., regarding a shooting and upon arrival made contact with the victim, Cylk Tilson, 20, of Hot Springs.

Tilson, an employee, stated he got into an argument with a subject outside the restaurant during which the suspect shot Tilson in the leg. Tilson was able to run back into the restaurant, and emergency personnel were notified.

According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but no description of the vehicle was available.

Tilson was transported by LifeNet to a local hospital where his condition was unknown.

HSPD Cpl. McCrary Means noted that the argument that led to the shooting was apparently not connected to the restaurant.
