Dear editor: More sirens needed

Dear editor:

Last year I wrote several articles which The Sentinel-Record printed in regard to the lack of adequate tornado warning sirens in Hot Springs and Garland County.

After the fifth or sixth article, there was at last a response. A front-page article that the city fathers, planning commission or whoever, had decided to buy several more sirens from the company that installed the token model for the downtown tourist trade.

I can't for the life of me understand why this is not a priority in Garland County. If memory serves me right, Saline County has 46 of this type warning sirens. Garland County has a right to the same protection.

Here tornado season is upon us again shortly and no announcement of new siren construction anywhere. What's our problem?
