Hogs' Macon named

SEC player of week

FAYETTEVILLE -- After recording Arkansas' first 30-point game of the year Saturday, junior Daryl Macon was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday by the league office.

Macon averaged 21.5 points as he led Arkansas to a pair of victories, including a road win over No. 21 South Carolina. He sealed the victory over the Gamecocks with four straight free throws in the final 15 seconds, giving Arkansas a win over a ranked opponent on the road for the first time in three years.

The Little Rock native came back on Saturday and put together the best single-game Razorback performance of the year against Ole Miss, dropping 30 points on 10-of-13 shooting and knocking down six three-pointers. He became just the fourth Razorback in the SEC era to score 30 points off the bench.

Riding a three-game winning streak, Arkansas returns to the court Wednesday, welcoming Texas A&M for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff on SEC Network (Resort Channel 79).
