The Hot Springs Kennel Club recently donated a new "cooling vest" to the Garland County Sheriff's Department for its K-9 officer as part of the club's community involvement program, which also includes obedience classes offered twice a year, starting Sept. 26, and a large all breed dog show, Sept. 30-Oct. 1. Deputy Benny Strickland is shown with his K-9 partner, Sandy, as she models the vest, which provides safety and comfort for the dog during hot weather.
