Rams rebound to dispatch Bobcats

HOPE -- After suffering its first conference loss of the season against visiting El Dorado on Tuesday, Lakeside got back to its winning ways Thursday night at Hope.

Lakeside wasted little time getting a jump on the slumping Bobcats, scoring three runs in both the first and second innings.

Held scoreless in the third and fourth, the Rams bounced back with two runs in the top of the fifth before erupting for six runs in the sixth to set the final margin.

Eight Rams drove in at least one run at the plate, while Ethan Bates, Remy Bilodeau and Cevela each scored two runs.

Nate Carder singled twice in three at-bats for Hope's lone base hits of the game. Zachary Fields allowed eight runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks in 4 1/3 innings pitched for the Bobcats.

Lakeside is scheduled to face El Dorado (15-4, 4-1) Monday at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. Two of the Rams' four losses this season have come to the Wildcats, which are coached by former Lakeside assistant Cannon Lester.
