Lions Club hosts Gun and Knife Show

More than 100 dealers are registered to be at the Hot Springs Convention Center this weekend for the semi-annual South Hot Springs Lions Club Gun and Knife Show. The show will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 per person with children 12 and under free with paid adult. Free parking is available. Only service animals allowed.

With 381 tables reserved by more than 107 vendors, dealers will sell, buy or trade at this event. There will be a selection of modern and antique firearms of all kinds, ammunition, custom knives, swords, accessories, reloading supplies, scopes and binoculars, knives sharpened, and a selection of informative literature. All local, state and federal laws are enforced and 24-hour security.

South Hot Springs Lions Club has sponsored the show twice a year since 1985, with all the proceeds used in Lions Club sight conservation and other community projects, including Arkansas Sheriff's Youth Ranch, Boys State, Girls State, The Caring Place, Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic, Garland County Historical Society, Habitat for Humanity, The Salvation Army, Jackson House, Potter's Clay, Boys & Girls Club, Samaritan Ministries, Hospice Foundation, Ouachita Children's Home, Cobra East, Project HOPE Food Bank, and three nursing scholarships at National Park College. Lion's club members contribute their time and efforts 100 percent.

Donations of eyeglasses will be accepted at the event for recycling.

The South Hot Springs Lions Club gathers at 5:30 p.m. each Tuesday, except for fifth Tuesdays, in CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs cafeteria, 300 Werner, with a meeting at 6:30 p.m.
