Henderson adds 33 scholarship signees to football program

ARKADELPHIA -- Henderson State welcomed 33 additions to the Reddie football team this week after players signed their letters of intent.

"I believe we have identified young men and their families who fit what we are looking for at Henderson State," head coach Scott Maxfield said. "That's huge for us because our niche here is developing young men who fit with us and are motivated by the environment here to be great.

"We have done that very well in this cycle. All of these young men will have an opportunity to come in and make an impact in our program, including some who will get that chance as true freshmen."

The Reddies' haul of signees includes 12 prospects from Arkansas. The other 21 feature players from bordering states Louisiana and Texas.

The Arkansas signees were cornerback Devon Adams (5-11, 160), of Pocahontas; defensive back Trystan Alcorn (6-3, 165), of Searcy; athlete Caleb Bowman (6-2, 235), of Clinton; linebacker Lucas Crumbly (6-2, 208), of Cabot; offensive lineman Robert Dunham (6-4, 260), of Nashville; offensive lineman Chel-C Harding (6-5, 292), of Maumelle; offensive lineman Jared Laughlin (6-5, 328), of Hamburg; linebacker Jakob Neel (6-0, 225), of Bryant; offensive lineman Quintlyn Rogers (6-3, 293), out of Little Rock Central; offensive lineman Blaise Smith (6-2, 300), of Bryant; offensive lineman Tanner Thomas (6-2, 318), of Searcy; and defensive back Jordan White (5-10, 160), of Nashville.

The secondary also saw five additions, while the linebacking and receiving corps added four each. Henderson finalized the class with two running backs, one quarterback, one designated athlete and two special-teams specific contributors.
