The Lake Hamilton Academic Team competed in Chicago June 8-10 at the National Academic Championship in the junior varsity division. After amassing a 5-1 record in the first two days of preliminary competition, the team qualified for the final day and was defeated in a close match in the semifinals to a team from New York. The New York team moved on to win the championship, having lost only one match in the entire competition, with that loss being to Lake Hamilton on the first day. The team included front, from left, Will Livingston, Pearson Hafer, Kaleb Paddie, Noah Smith and Jace Joiner, and back, from left, Carter Manatt, Ethan Shepherd and Wesley Bonner.
