A local teenager was charged with first-degree murder Sunday afternoon for the reported fatal shooting of 21-year-old Keon Lashawn Jackson, of Hot Springs, early Saturday morning on Autumn Street, Hot Springs police said.

Laquan Vontae Paskel, 18, of Hot Springs, was located at a residence on Oakcliff Street at around 3:45 p.m. Sunday and taken into custody without further incident, police said in a news release.

Detectives believe the incident was narcotics-related, the release said.

Paskel is being charged with first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and theft of property over $1,000, and will be held at the Garland County Detention Center with no bond.

Jackson was found lying on the ground at 241 Autumn Street after officers responded to a possible shooting at 2:20 a.m. Saturday.

Officers found Jackson in front of apartment No. 30 at that address.
