Eureka was organized on May 5, 1883, by a few families and their neighbors in the Gaines and Eureka Street area who decided to organize a place of worship under a brush arbor under the leadership of the Rev. B.B. Dilloney, who was chosen as the first pastor of the newly organized church. He remained the pastor until 1906. The current pastor, the Rev. Dr. Steve R. Lake, has been the pastor for 32 years.

The theme for this year's anniversary is "Still Standing By The Grace of God," Ephesians 6:13. Guests are Greater Ebenzer Baptist Church family and their pastor, the Rev. Dr. Billy R. Wilson.

The program this year is dedicated to members throughout the church's history, whose family or friends purchased "pew tags," to place on the pews within the church in their memory.
