The Greater Hot Springs Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the second annual Greater Hot Springs Sexy Legs contest.

"With each vote costing only $1, the Kiwanis Club is allowing the public to decide whose legs are the most terrific," a news release said.

All proceeds benefit the TERRIFIC Kids program, a Kiwanis-sponsored program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance.

TERRIFIC is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable. "The TERRIFIC Kid program provides teachers and counselors with a tool to reward students who may otherwise go unnoticed. It is a tool for recognizing the practice of good character in an environment that is most often focused almost exclusively on academic achievement. When students embrace learning and practice good character, their behavior in the classroom, school grounds, and at home improves," the release said.

To vote, visit the contestants' various places of business and place contributions in the TERRIFIC Kids collection cans; call Donna Lawrence, Greater Hot Springs Kiwanis Club president, at 501-463-9369; or any Kiwanis member.

The winner will be announced at a chili supper at 6 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Elks Lodge.

"The real winner will be the TERRIFIC Kid program and the Garland County children who will benefit from learning that good behavior is a reward in and of itself," the release said.

Contestants are A.J. Johnson, FBC Fitness; Brent Miller, Miller Law Firm; Anthony Tidwell, Cutwell 4 Kids; Jonathan Lishbrook, Lake Hamilton Fire Department; Under Sheriff Jason Lawrence, Garland County Sheriff's Department; Greg Bearss, LakePointe Church; Alex Burback, Family Care Chiropractic; Eric Fryar, Nate Hall, John Peters and Drew Gillham, all of the Hot Springs Fire Department; Bruce Hubbard, Parkside Cycle; Terrance Peck, U.S. Forest Service; Xon Post, Post Homes; Dr. Lance Smith, Smith Drugs and Compounding; and Brent Atkins, Simmons Bank.
