Elks Lodge 380 recently presented "Outstanding Display of Patriotism" Awards to Garvan Woodland Gardens, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and the Garland County Sheriff's Department following dinner at the lodge. The groups were chosen by the Lodge Americanism Committee based on recommendations by members of the lodge, and it was noted all three maintain American and Arkansas flags consistently, "stimulating a feeling of pride and respect of patriotism, following correct protocol, and in well kept, beautiful, settings," the lodge said. Garvan Gardens was represented by Susan Harper, volunteer coordinator and coordinator of the Visitors' Center; Garland County Sheriff's Department was represented by Patrol Capt. Joel Ware and Sgt. David Martineau; and CHI St. Vincent was represented by Crystal Bohannan, vice president of operations.
