Trusty, Porter lead Lakeside past Benton

BENTON -- Junior Maddie Trusty and senior Chloe Porter combined for 25 points to lead Lakeside to a 47-34 win over Benton Monday night in Benton. The game was moved up due to parent-teacher conferences at Benton Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers (5-15, 2-7 5A South) were held to single-digit scoring for the first three quarters of the game as the Lady Rams (19-4, 7-3) stretched a 15-6 lead in the first quarter to a 27-15 halftime spread. Both teams struggled to score in the third as Lakeside pushed out to a 32-19 lead before both added 15 points in the fourth to set the final.

Trusty led Lakeside with 13 points and four rebounds, and Porter had 12 points and five assists. Junior Erika Bittinger padded the stat sheet with 9 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Mady Davenport and senoir Ayanna Thrower put up 5 each.

"I thought this was Erika's best game of the year," said Lakeside head coach Chris Brock. "She had her hand in everything on both ends the entire night. She was awesome."

The Lady Rams host Sheridan (10-9, 5-3) on Friday.

Lakeside (VB) 61, Benton 55

BENTON -- Sophomores Wylyn Harris, Jamison Craig and Alveon Harris tallied 36 points to lead the Rams past the Panthers.

Lakeside (10-13, 3-8 5A South) jumped out to an early 18-7 lead over Benton, but the Panthers cut the spread down to 30-26 by the break. Benton outscored Lakeside 12-5 in the third to take a 38-35 lead before the Rams put up 26 to the Panthers' 17 to secure the win.

Wylyn Harris led Lakeside with a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Craig added 11, and Alveon Harris had 9.

The Rams will play host to Sheridan (13-6, 6-2) Friday.

Paris (JB) 51, Fountain Lake 45, OT

PERRYVILLE -- The junior Eagles outscored the junior Cobras 10-5 in the extra period to advance to the 3A-4 District tournament finals Monday night.

Fountain Lake (19-2) came out strong, taking a 13-9 lead, but Paris started chipping away at its deficit to pull within 22-19 at intermission. After outscoring the junior Eagles 10-9 in the third, the junior Cobras allowed Paris to knot the score at the end of regulation.

Colby Lambert led Fountain Lake with 22 points, and Jesse Wells (18) and Edwards (11) led Paris.

The junior Cobras finished the season as back-to-back regular-season conference champions.

Bismarck (VG) 69, Genoa Central 55

BISMARCK -- The Lady Lions had four finish in double figures as they topped the Lady Dragons Friday night at Holt Gymnasium.

Hannah Collie led Bismarck with 16 points, Kady Pleasants and Bianca Pettus each added 13, and Alyssa Zia had 11.

Bismarck (JG) 40, Smackover 21

ROSBORO -- Tori Lingo led the junior Lady Lions (19-4) past the junior Lady Buckaroos in the first round of the 3A-7 district tournament at Centerpoint Monday.

Lingo put up 11 points, Natalie Metcalf added 8, and Alydia Zia had 7.

Bismarck will play Fouke in the semifinals Thursday.

Rams win conference,

Lady Rams finish third

FORT SMITH -- After an undefeated regular season, Lakeside's boys bowling team won the 5A West conference tournament with Lake Hamilton finishing third and Hot Springs eighth. The Lady Rams were third with Lake Hamilton sixth and Hot Springs ninth.

The Rams knocked down 3,170 pins for the win, adding 703 from the Baker match. Siloam Springs finished second with 3,079 pins (3,764 total), Lake Hamilton had 2,908 (3,600) and Hot Springs 2,767 (3,370).

Cael Braughton led Lakeside with games of 196, 195 and 174 for a 565 series. Jimmy Tejcek (552), Kade Arguello (544), Tyson Keeney (522), Hunter Rhodes (506) and Kate Tarbet (481) rounded out the scoring for Lakeside.

Devin Blythe bowled a 540 series to lead Lake Hamilton with games of 213, 133 and 194. Ethan Nash (519), Keegan Ireland (510), Dylan Baum (501), Lance Green (495) and Josh Iuhasz (343) rounded out the scoring.

Bryan Massey led Hot Springs with games of 220, 176 and 204 for a 600 series. Dawson Jones (535), Cameron Elliott (486), Zak Cabibi-Wilkin (397), John Thomas Butler (317), Ethan Abel (236), Varj Modi (99) and Xavier Graves (97) also competed for the Trojans.

Siloam Springs won the girls side with 2,554 pins and 3,168 after the Baker match with Texarkana (2,881) finishing second. The Lady Rams knocked down 2,253 pins with a 612 Baker score, Lake Hamilton tallied 2,222 (2694 total) and Hot Springs 1,745 (2,156).

Paige Hines led Lakeside with games of 135, 150 and 153 for a 438 series. Abby Shelby (421), Jenna Sims (399), Haley Fauber (362), Kaithlyn Nguyen (354) and Lilly Crabtree (279) rounded out the scoring.

Ally Ross paced Lake Hamilton with a 557 series comprised of games of 211, 155 and 191. Kennedy Roberts (384), Kensie Orrell (369), Hannah Kirk (315), Brooklyn Inscore (309) and Raylee Brown (288) also contributed.

Annabel Spayde bowled games of 98, 108 and 124 for a 330 series to lead Hot Springs. Ivory Murphree (305), Hannah Saxton (291), Israel Han (288), Sydney Crabtree (273), Layla Rayes (181) and Saraswatti Hillis-Erickson (77) rounded out the scoring.

Ross was the gold medalist for the girls while Massey was the boys silver medalist, both earning All-Conference honors. Braughton (ninth overall), Tejcek (11th), Arguello (12th) and Hines (ninth) also earned All-Conference honors.

Both Lakeside teams qualified for the 5A state tournament while Massy and Jones qualified as individuals for the boys state tournament while Ross, Roberts and Orrell qualified for the girls.

The state tournament will be held in Jonesboro today starting at 11 a.m.
