Two pedestrians struck

in crosswalk at Oaklawn

A Hot Springs man and woman were both struck by a vehicle Sunday night while crossing Central Avenue near Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, according to a Hot Springs police vehicle crash report released Monday.

Aaron Dewayne Gordon, 68, and Gloria Gordon, 66, were reportedly crossing Central in the 2700 block just north of Higdon Ferry Road, in a crosswalk, shortly before 9 p.m. when they were struck in the outside lane by the front of a southbound 2012 Honda Civic driven by Darrell Dewayne Dobson, 37, of Hot Springs, who reportedly failed to yield.

Both of the Gordons were transported by LifeNet to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs with possible injuries. Dobson, who was not injured, was cited for failing to yield. The report notes it was raining and wet at the time of the incident.
