"Tea & Tiaras," a new event featuring a "fun fashion show, delectable edibles, opportunity drawing, extremely unique shopping experience and a surprise," will be held from 2-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Grand Lagniappe Shoppe & Tea Shoppe, 811 W. Grand Ave.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the 2020 Ms. Arkansas Senior America Pageant, which will be held Saturday, June 27, at the Coronado Center in Hot Springs Village.
The Arkansas Senior America Pageant is sanctioned under the 501(c)3 senioramerica.org pageant system. Now in its 31st year, the Arkansas Senior America Pageant honors and pays tribute to women who have reached the "Age of Elegance" of 60-plus, a news release said.
"Each year in a pageant format the search is on for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior Americans. She is that special person who brings her wisdom, life experiences, intelligence, talents, skills and stories to the generations around her and who will vibrantly represent the beautiful state of Arkansas in the national competition held each October in Atlantic City," the release said.
The event will feature Sharon Morgan Tahaney, Ms. Arkansas Senior America 2019 and the Court of Ambassadors, Sherry Allen, Alice Canham, Carrie Thomsen and Jo West.
