Junior Rams roll past junior Panthers

Lakeside's junior boys picked up their first conference win Thursday night as they rolled to a 50-38 win over Magnolia at the Lakeside Athletic Complex.

In the team's first game since losing to Lake Hamilton in overtime in the Kameron Hale Invitational, the junior Rams (12-3, 1-0 5A South) jumped out to a 14-7 lead before struggling in the second as the junior Panthers cut the spread to 20-19 at the break. Lakeside outscored Magnolia 14-5 in the third to take a 10-point lead into the final period before securing the win.

Tyler Frederick led the junior Rams with 19 points, Braylen Russell added 12, and Charter Harris and A.J. Howard scored 8 each.

"We tried to extend our zone out a little bit, and they hurt us with their quickness and second-chance buckets," said head coach Cody Lambert. "Once we went back to our matchup, they didn't have a response. Braylen and Tyler carried us in the first half, but Charter and A.J. hit the boards hard in the third quarter and put the game out of reach, extending the lead to 18 at one point in the fourth."

The junior Rams travel to Sheridan Tuesday.

Lake Hamilton 45, Bryant 23

Ty Robinson and Zac Pennington combined for 26 points to lead the junior Wolves past the junior Hornets at Wolf Arena.

Lake Hamilton pushed out to a 12-9 lead in the first quarter before stretching to a 23-15 lead at intermission. The junior Wolves outscored Bryant 16-4 in the third before scoring 6 in the final six minutes while allowing 4 to take the win.

Robinson led Lake Hamilton with 15, Pennington added 11, Kendrick Martin and Cooper Kindt put up 6 each, K.J. McDaniel finished with 5, and Easton Hurley rounded out the scoring with 2.

Fountain Lake 42, Caddo Hills 23

FOUNTAIN LAKE -- After a slow start, the junior Cobras combined for 28 points in two quarters as they rolled the junior Indians at Irvin J. Bass Gymnasium.

Both teams scored 5 points in the opening six minutes before Fountain Lake found its rhythm with a 13-5 second frame to take an 18-10 lead into the second half. The junior Cobras pushed out to a 33-19 lead in the third before cruising in the final period for the win.

Cody Lambert led the junior Cobras with 12 points, and Cureton led Caddo Hills with 8.

The junior Cobras travel to Jessieville on Tuesday.

Lakeside 50, Magnolia 21

Ameila Rogers matched Magnolia's entire offensive output as the junior Lady Rams cruised to a win Thursday at Lakeside Athletic Complex.

Lakeside jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first six minutes before stretching to a 34-8 lead at the break. The junior Lady Rams outscored the junior Lady Panthers 16-13 in the second half to secure the win.

Riley Orr earned a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Kennedy Brock had three 3-pointers for 9 points on the night.

Lakeside will travel to Sheridan on Tuesday.

Caddo Hills 37, Fountain Lake 32, OT

FOUNTAIN LAKE -- The junior Lady Cobras (7-6) could not get its offense moving quickly enough in the extra period as the junior Lady Indians took the road win.

With the score tied at 31-all at the end of regulation, Caddo Hills outscored Fountain Lake 6-1 to take the win.

Both teams scored 7 in the first quarter, but the junior Lady Indians took a 14-12 lead into halftime. Fountain Lake outscored the visiting team 11-6 in the third before Caddo Hills outscored the hosts 11-8 to knot the score.

Kara Martin led the junior Lady Cobras with 15 points, Kamryn Whiley and Eden East scored 7 each.

Fountain Lake travels to Jessieville Tuesday.

*The eighth grade Lady Cobras topped Caddo Hills, 11-6.

over Clarksville

The Lady Rams (7-3, 4-3) rolled past the Lady Panthers with 1,935 total pins to Clarksville's 1,500 at home Monday.

Paige Hines led Lakeside with games of 174 and 116 for a 290 series. Abby Shelby (154, 134), Haley Fauber (128, 123), Kaithlyn Nguyen (128, 123), Jenna Sims (150, 101) and Lilly Crabtree (125, 123) completed the Lady Rams' team score.

The Rams (10-0, 7-0) blew past Clarksville Monday with a win of 2,462 pins over the Panthers' 1,497.

Kade Arguello led the Rams with games of 215 and 191 for a 406 series. Jimmy Tejcek (191, 210), Cael Braughton (212, 169), Kade Tarbet (140, 167), Caiden Ingram (111, 189) and Tyson Keeney (127, 153) rounded out the team's scoring.
