Puddles isn't to blame for crashing his own "pity party," at least according to Visit Hot Springs.

Visit Hot Springs announced the latest addition to September's Spa-Con Wednesday morning, only to have the multigenre convention's website crash after the concert tickets went on sale.

Was the "sad clown with the golden voice" to blame? Not according to Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs. It was all just a big coincidence. "After further investigation looks like it was a global hosting problem not related to our Puddles release," Arrison said.

Puddles Pity Party, the "America's Got Talent" sensation that has toured the country, will perform Friday, Sept. 18, as the opening night concert at Spa-Con V in the Hot Springs Convention Center, according to a Visit Hot Springs news release.

The concert tickets were made available at http://www.spa-con.org Wednesday morning, and Arrison said the site was back up by the afternoon.

Puddles Pity Party will begin at 7 p.m. in Horner Hall. Seating will be general admission and tickets are $30. Admission to the concert is not included in the special weekend pass, day pass or VIP pass price.

Spa-Con V will run from Sept. 18-20 at the convention center.

"The show by the 'Sad Clown with the Golden Voice' is not all sadness and longing. The show is peppered with a brilliant sense of the absurd, mixing lots of humor with the awkward, tender moments," Visit Hot Springs posted on its Facebook page Wednesday.

"Puddles Pity Party has more than 620,000 YouTube subscribers and more than 200 million views for indelible interpretations of classics by the likes of ABBA, David Bowie, Cheap Trick and Queen and his unforgettable mashup of 'Pinball Wizard/Folsom Prison Blues,'" it said.

Previously announced as a celebrity guest at Spa-Con V was Lori Petty, known to comics fans for her portrayal of "Tank Girl" in the movie of the same name and for her starring role more recently on "Orange Is The New Black" on Netflix.

Early bird tickets are now on sale for Spa-Con V on the website. Weekend passes good for the entire convention are $25; day passes are $20; and VIP passes are $100. The ticket prices will increase April 15, and will increase again Sept. 1.

According to Bill Solleder, Visit Hot Springs director of marketing, Spa-Con is a celebration of pop culture and comics that brings together a diverse audience that loves everything from Batman to "Stranger Things," Pac-Man to Mario Smash Bros, Dungeons and Dragons to Pokemon and "everything in between."
