Billy R. Coffee

Billy Rogers Coffee, 76, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, July 1, 2020.

He was born July 25, 1943, in Gainesboro, Tenn., the son of Edgar and Mary Jones Coffee. On Oct. 2, 1971, he married Brenda Sue Browning, who preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas Coffee and Jimmy Coffee; one sister, Nannie Rodgers; one brother-in-law, Donald Batty; and one niece, Jennifer Wellman.

Billy worked for Ability Metal for over 50 years where he became the general manager and vice president of sales. He loved to travel and go to casinos. He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw and brother, who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Survivors are two sons, Roger (Janine) Coffee, of Wood Dale, Ill., and Richard Coffee Sr., of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Nick Coffee, of Wood Dale, Ill., Richard Coffee Jr., of Valparaiso, Ind., and Kimberly Coffee of Hot Springs; two sisters, Myrtle Batty and Sarah Mateja, both of Hot Springs; nieces; nephews; and a host of wonderful friends.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Pastor Scott Gallimore officiating. Social distancing directives are in place -- 50 or less at a time in chapel and face covering must be worn.

Interment in Crestview Memorial Park with military honors by the United States Army.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers are John Batty, Jerry Batty, Nick Coffee, Vince Wellman, Richard Coffee Jr. and Joe Shrable.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ted M. Faro and staff. Special thank you to Dianna Powell of Hospice Home Care.
