SENIOR SCENE: Psalm 90:12

OPINION

"Lord, teach me to number my days."

Psalm 90:2 is a beautiful verse. If we at Hospice Home Care declared a Bible verse for our company, it would be this one. It is a verse of alignment and reminds us that we are vulnerable.

Today is important.

Our attitude, how we care, and how we make the day better for those we serve matters. "Adding Life to Each and Every Day" is much more than a tag line for us; it's the way we approach each day as we plan to care for our patients and their families. We value the time we have with each one, every day.

We all countdown to many events in life; school starting, birthdays and holidays are just a few.

Every morning when we wake up, our days are counting down. The Psalm reminds us of the value of time and to live with an eternal set of values. Seven words; Lord teach me to number my days, says so much!

If you are of a certain age and background, you may recall an old Gaither chorus:

We have this moment to hold in our hands

And to touch, as it slips through our fingers like sand.

Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come,

But we have this moment today.

Live to the fullest! Add life to each and every day.
