Elizabeth Marie McElroy, 68, of Hot Springs, Ark., went to be with the good Lord on July 31, 2021.

She was born a 1 pound baby in Mena, Ark., on Feb. 3, 1953. This sweet spirited lady was a survivor her entire life. First, Dee Dee (Elizabeth) Brown was born to Buster and Nelta Brown. She worked full time at Mena hospital throughout her high school years. This cowgirl was the Rodeo Queen winning the barrel race.

Moving to Hot Springs to attend the rehab center. She met her first husband, Wayne Smith, and had their only child, Sandy Smith (Villa). They became very close after Wayne's accident. They enjoyed fishing during the day and music at night. Where Wayne had a band, The Cobra Cowboys.

Later, Elizabeth married Micheal McElroy. They enjoyed swimming, camping and traveling. They traveled to Germany, France and Italy. She adored Sandy's three children: Alejandro, Darey and Cruz. Her family included Jesus Villa (son-in-law), A.T. Brown was like a brother and his wife Evelyn, her sister, Margaret Sherwood and her children, Harold, Debbie, Mike, Jeff and Charles Dale. Carol (sister) and close friends; Jeanie Howard, Fay Garibay and Beverley Pilgrim.

Elizabeth was instrumental in helping Micheal and Sandy, as well as the grandchildren, to go to church. She will be greatly missed. Elizabeth was an animal lover. She was kind and generous to all. She will be rewarded with all her charity and love. Apologies to anyone left out.

Elizabeth's viewing is from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home and the service is at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at the same location. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
