A local teen was arrested on a felony warrant Friday stemming from allegations she attacked a woman, beating her in the face and head with brass knuckles, on Wednesday.

Jacelynn Falon Joannabelle Pickering, 19, who lists a Sleepy Valley Road address, was taken into custody around 3 p.m. in the 700 block of Spring Street and charged with second-degree battery, punishable by up to six years in prison.

Pickering, who also had a warrant for misdemeanor first-degree assault stemming from another incident on June 30, was being held on a $21,000 bond and was set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Wednesday, around 12:30 a.m., Hot Springs police responded to the 1500 block of West St. Louis Street regarding a battery that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, they made contact with a woman who stated she was there visiting her cousin when a white Toyota Camry pulled up and a known suspect, identified as Pickering, got out and approached her.

She said Pickering began yelling at her and then grabbed her by the hair and started hitting her in the face and head with brass knuckles. After the assault, Pickering got back in her car and fled the scene.

Officers noted the woman had large swelling and a laceration to the left of her face and head. She was transported by LifeNet to National Park Medical Center where staff began treating her for a concussion with an MRI pending.

The affidavit notes there were several witnesses at the scene who told officers they saw Pickering hitting the victim with brass knuckles. A warrant was later issued for Pickering's arrest.

According to court records, Pickering had no prior criminal history before the June 30 incident.
