Coy Hunter, 76, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Friday June 4, 2021.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1944, in Hot Springs, Ark., to the late Eldon and Vernie Hunter.

Coy was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Virginia Melancen; and two brothers, Roy Hunter and Jimmy Hunter.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Janet Hunter; daughters, Tara Barrett (Shane) and Shadda Tapp (Tylar); grandchildren, Rhett Barrett, Aryanna Tapp and Jacob Barrett; sisters, Glenda Catlett (Bill), Vernell Williams (Ralph), Kitty Armstrong, Carolyn Jones (Jeff); brothers, Alfard Hunter (Janey), Kurt Hunter (Belinda); and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Rhett Barrett, Jacob Barrett, Dale Melancen, Trent Hunter, Drew Smyly and Todd Broughton.

Honorary pallbearers are Clay Pratt, Debra Holman, Lisa Hetherington, Shelita Ballard, Shannon Clark, the staff of Village Springs Health and Rehab and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.

Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center, 2529 Airport Road.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2021, at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center, 2529 Airport Road, with Brother Ronnie Inman and Brother James Craver officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
