Sunday's Letters to the editor

Senators' failures

Dear editor:

I am sending you a copy of an email I sent to both of our Arkansas senators because I want everyone to understand what is at stake with this Congress. Herewith:

Your failure to endorse a committee to investigate Jan. 6, 2021, and your failure to vote for the voting rights amendment now before the Senate proves you don't care anything about me or anyone else that doesn't believe in your fascist goals for America.

You, sir, are a traitor. I am calling you out to prove yourself otherwise. I don't hold out much hope because your mouthpiece, Mitch McConnell, has already said how you will vote. It ain't me, babe, that's your leader. It's a fascist wannabe. I will do everything in my power to see you are removed from office.

Monster US made

Dear editor:

China is a monster we helped to create and one of the most despicable countries in the world for illegal wildlife trade, developing raccoon dogs to be killed for fur, consuming every living thing on Earth that can be rumored to have sex benefits, converting the world tropical forest to palm oil production and other horrific actions.

We supported and help develop this monster, giving them our technology, trade secrets (what was not stolen), industry, and manufacturing, added to our trade deficit, depriving American workers of jobs, letting them buy up and control America. We sold them our natural resources and benefited China in many ways that helped sink the U.S. into our dependency and decline of our economy and security. Much of this was to deny paying U.S. workers fair wages and generating a greater profit for stockholders and increase salaries and bonuses for company executives.

Now our entire country and economy are vulnerable and dependent on China and their products under their control. The issue is more complex than this but we cheated ourselves in the process and we continue to do so.

Bus 'mistake' no joke

Dear editor:

I will be nice and say the city's bus purchase was an honest mistake; however, I do want to crack a joke at their expense.

Did the city hire a consultant firm to look into the purchase before the city bought the buses? Paying a consultant firm about $364,704 could have prevented wasting $364,704 on buses the city can't use. We don't want to waste taxpayer money. Thank you city for this golden opportunity to crack a joke.

I hope everybody's doing well and is safe from the drag queen COVID. It just came out of the closet and decided it was a Delta today and tomorrow it might decide to be a toaster. I can't keep up with the new's fear-mongering about COVID. Anyhow, God Bless everybody.

Kidd memorial

Dear editor:

I would like to post a note to all that would come to a memorial for Jimmie R. Kidd. He passed away on Thanksgiving Day. Due to COVID-19, we were unable to have services.

We are planning a memorial on June 26 from 3-6 p.m. at Huntleigh Woods Clubhouse, 30 Huntleigh Drive. Molly, Jimmie's daughter, and family will be present and hopes to see friends and classmates, and to remember and share stories.

If anyone has questions, they may call Merrilyn Mann, 501-276-1416.
